The Curse of Eleanor Crabtree is a short film by James Cowen that tells the tale of a woman cursed by immortality and the extreme steps she takes to be reunited with her murdered fiance. Inspired in part by the wonderful Tim Burton’s ‘A Nightmare before Christmas’ , this black comedy is set in a surreal world stuck somewhere between the 18th Century and the 1950s. The film fuses animation and live action techniques to construct a unique and hilarious slice of life, told as a rhyming poem.

Surviving Georgia is an intelligent, funny, moving and delightful romantic comedy starring some of Australia’s most loved actors from film and television including Pia Miranda, Holly Valance, Spencer McLaren and Caroline O’Connor with Shane Jacobson.

The score, which was written predominantly for strings, melodic percussion and piano, explores the themes of the film including loss and love, self discovery, resolution and happiness.  I like to think it captures the romance and humour of the film and the performances herein.  The score also includes the song All that you love co-composed with and sung by the wonderful Abi Tucker.
